So, your basic job is to find and carefully study clues on the scenes related to the crime and the painter. First of all, you’ll be playing an ispy game and look for the clues based on their silhouettes.

1. When scouring a scene, keep an eye on your cursor. It will turn into a gear when you have collected enough hidden objects to perform an action (like lighting up a lamp with matches).

2. If you see a puzzle piece activated in your stats panel at the bottom left – you have picked the clue that will lead you to a mini-game. As a rule, in mini-games you’ll have to decode some messages like this one…

3. If your cursor turns into a magnifying glass, this surely means that you can zoom in this part of the scene. I bet several useful objects are there.

While playing the game, you will be switching between three main locations. The first one is your Baker Street flat that has all the tools to investigate the crime…This is where you can study the clues you have collected using your microscope and chemical substances.

Police station is where you come for more witness statements, crime reports and results of interrogations.

As a result, after you find all the clues in one scene, study the clues in your home lab and come to police station for a new report, a new location will be activated. Go to city map to enter it.

On the whole, this game follows the tradition of similar 3D investigation games sort of Nancy Drew. It combines professionally-performed visuals with breath-taking soundtrack.

However, the biggest flaw in the game is IMHO the lack of dynamic hints that would pop-up when you’re stuck. Help information is presented in a single screen in the main menu. Even if you have 3 hints in the beginning of an ispy level, you cannot earn more of them no matter how well you play. It may seem disappointing, especially for newbies at I spy.
